Day 0
The night the week ends
Friday night, Delhi. You find your seat on the Volvo, the city lights thin out, and somewhere past midnight the road starts to climb.
- Depart Delhi in an AC Volvo
- Overnight drive into the hills

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh · 3 nights / 4 days · Delhi to Delhi
Little Lhasa, a monastery morning, and a starlit camp on Triund ridge.
McLeod Ganj sits above Dharamshala in the Kangra district, a blend of Tibetan and British hill-station culture that earned it the name Little Lhasa. Monasteries, momos, mountain silence.
Above it all waits Triund, a 2,828 metre ridge at the foot of the Dhauladhar. The 9 km trail up is one of the friendliest treks in Himachal, which is exactly why the sunrise from the top feels like a secret you did not have to suffer for.

Read it the way you will live it.
Day 0
Friday night, Delhi. You find your seat on the Volvo, the city lights thin out, and somewhere past midnight the road starts to climb.

Day 1
You reach McLeod Ganj as the town wakes. Check in, a slow lunch, and then the afternoon belongs to the streets: the roar of Bhagsunag Falls, prayer wheels at the monastery, the long browse down Mall Road.
The evening does not wind down. It turns up, a DJ night and dinner back at the hotel.

Day 2
Early breakfast, check out, and the trail begins. Nine kilometres of oak and rhododendron, chai stalls at the right moments, the valley dropping away behind you.
By evening you are on the ridge at 2,828 metres. Dome camps, dinner, a bonfire, and a sky with no light pollution left in it.

Day 3
Sunrise over the Dhauladhar, breakfast at the top, then the easy walk down. By afternoon you are back in McLeod Ganj, with one last stop: the cricket stadium at Dharamshala, the prettiest ground in the country.
Then the Volvo, and the mountains letting you go slowly.

Day 4
Delhi by morning. Photos full, legs sore, inbox unopened. The theory holds: a weekend is enough.

“Somewhere on the nine kilometres up, the city noise finally quits.”
Real trips, told the way people actually talk about them after.
